Opening of the Ratnapura District Rehabilitation Coordination Office

The 14th District Rehabilitation Coordination Office of the Bureau of Rehabilitation was ceremonially opened on 2 February 2026 at the Ratnapura District Secretariat, under the patronage of the Ratnapura District Secretary, Mr K. G. S. Nishantha, and the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Brigadier M. S. Amith.

Among those who attended the occasion were the Additional District Secretary of Ratnapura, Mrs B. T. G. I. Karunaratne, the Accountant, the District Engineer, the District Planning Director, the Rehabilitation Officer of the Ratnapura District Rehabilitation Coordination Office Colonel G. A. D. I. S. Samaranayaka, and the Ratnapura Coordinator of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, Ms Dayani Chanika, along with many other officials.

The purpose of establishing this new office is to further expand rehabilitation services within the community and to support the improvement of the economic and social conditions of individuals who have been reintegrated into society following rehabilitation.
